Banksy (b 1974) is from Bristol, United Kingdom and he is the most famous anonymous street artist. At the same time he is a political activist. His signature style is using stencils and creating work that is dealing with extremely current issues. “Girl with Balloon” was firstly a mural series in 2002 in London. It is among one of Banky's most iconic artworks and later it has been made into print series. In 2018 when a framed version of the artwork was being auctioned at Sotheby's, the mechanical device built into the artwork started shredding the work during the auction. Basically, the new work was created on the spot and Banksy had made a statement. The artist renamed the piece “Love is in the Bin” and it sold for 1.4 million dollars. It resold for 25.4 million dollars in 2021.

Tema käekiri on šabloonide kasutamine ning teoste loomine, mis tegelevad äärmiselt palju aktuaalsete teemadega. “Girl with Balloon” oli esmalt muralite seeria 2002. aastal Londonis. See on Banksy üks ikoonilisemaid töid ja hiljem on seda trükitud kujul välja antud. Kui 2018. aastal teose raamitud versioon Sotheby oksjonimajas müüki läks, siis hakkas teose sisse ehitatud mehaaniline seade teost purustama oksjoni toimumise ajal. Põhimõtteliselt sündis uus teos kohapeal ja Banksy oli öelnud oma sõna. Kunstnik nimetas teose ümber ““Love is in the Bin” ja see müüdi 1,4 miljoni dollari eest. 2021. aastal müüdi see edasi 25,4 miljoni dollari eest.
