Dynamic of the God I-V
Dmitri Prigov
Dmitri Prigov (1940-2007) was a Russian artist and writer. He was a dissident in the Soviet Union and he was sent to the psychiatric hospital in the 1980s. Current artwork “Dynamic of the God I-V” uses newspaper as a canvas and besides different images it also depicts a word god. In the Soviet Union any religion and god were forbidden topics. One can ask, were the power structures and newspapers as messengers the only “gods”, that the people at the time were allowed to listen and obey?
Dmitri Prigov (1940-2007) oli Vene kunstnik ja kirjanik. Nõukogude Liidus oli ta teisitimõtleja ning ta saadeti selle eest 1980. aastatel psühhiaatriahaiglasse. Käesolev kunstiteos “Dynamic of the God I-V” kasutab ajalehte kui lõuendit ning lisaks erinevatele kujunditele kujutab see ka sõna god. Nõukogude Liidus olid religioon ja jumal keelatud teemad. Seega võib vaataja küsida, kas võimustruktuurid ja ajalehed nende sõnumitoojatena olid ainsad “jumalad”, mida inimesed võisid kuulata ja järgida?
