PoCo treasure hunt

Description

PoCo Treasure Hunt takes students on a playful museum lesson where they search for museum treasures – works of art. The theme of the lesson encourages them to think about collecting and the value of objects and what we value in life. During the treasure hunt, we will solve crossword puzzles and guess riddles together. We will use props to create our own interpretations of the artworks. We will also try our hand at writing free verse based on the artwork. What treasures will the students find in the museum!?

Objectives

The student:

  • forms the habit of visiting museums through play;
  • searches for and discovers museum treasures – works of art;
  • guesses riddles and solves crosswords;
  • describes works of art and expresses his/her emotions;
  • creates his/her own interpretations based on the artworks.

Before and after

Before the museum lesson, you can talk about collecting. What different people, museums and art collectors collect. Maybe organize a joint collection campaign.

After the museum lesson, you can talk with the students about the museum treasures. What they remembered and liked. A good opportunity is to remember and sketch your PoCo art treasure map.
