AI Generated Nude Portrait #7 Frame #13
Robbie Barrat (b 1999) is a young American AI prodigy born in Dublin and raised in West Virginia. Before moving to Europe, studying art and becoming a full time artist he worked at a bioinformatics lab. He uses GANs – generative adversarial networks for his artworks. For the artist AI is both a tool and a medium. Barrats first exhibition took place in 1999 and it was a collaboration with a French painter Ronan Barrot. Current artwork is part of the AI generated nude portraits. Namely the artist trained a network to portray nude figures based on the thousands of original nude portraits. The case was that the machine didn’t interpret the reference in a “correct” way and the result is a mix of flesh, clumps and folds instead of nudes as people are used to seeing them.
Robbie Barrat (b 1999) on noor tehisintellekti imelaps Ameerikast. Käesolev kunstiteos on osa tehisintellektiga loodud aktidest.
