Võlu ja Vaim
Raul Meel (b 1941) is an Estonian graphic artist, painter, sculptor, installation and fire performance artist and also a poet. “Võlu ja Vaim” is a painting from his legendary painting series, which he painted in his Mustamäe apartment bathroom. He used different brushes and in his own words he “was building mental structures”. When it comes to the Raul Meel painting series they are valued for their grandiosity and possibility that they continue to the infinity. In PoCo museum Raul Meel’s artwork starts a conversation with Marcel Duchamp’s artworks, both abstract and dynamic at the same time.
Raul Meel (s 1941) on Eesti graafika- ja maalikunstnik, kujur, installatsiooni – ja tuleperformansikunstnik, luuletaja-konkretist. “Võlu ja Vaim” on tema legendaarne maalide sari 1989. aastast, mida ta maalis oma Mustamäe korteri vannitoas. Seeria töövahenditeks olid erinevad harjad ja harjaseid ning kunstniku enda sõnul “ehitas ta mentaalseid struktuure”. Raul Meele sarjade puhul tuuakse esile nende suurejoonelisust ning võimalikkust, et need jätkuvad lõpmatusse. PoCo muuseumis astub Raul Meele teos dialoogi Marcel Duchampi teostega, mõlemad on samaaegselt abstraktsed ja dünaamilised.
