Banksy (b 1974) is from Bristol, United Kingdom and he is the most famous anonymous graffiti artist. At the same time he is a political activist. His signature style is using stencils and creating work that is dealing with extremely current issues. “Choose Your Weapon” first appeared on the streets of London in 2010. In the same year a limited edition print series of it was released and the amount of the fans who wanted it surpassed the offer. Hence the artist released the gray version for those, who couldn't buy the print regardless of standing in line for hours. The dog depicted on the artwork is a signature Keith Haring and acts as a homage to him. The boy depicted has his face covered and he is wearing a hood, he becomes the symbol for the disaffected youth of the UK. On one hand the dogs can be alternative weapons, but on the other side both Banksy and Haring show that there are alternatives for violence and the artist's tools are more powerful than any weapons for resistance.

Tema käekiri on šabloonide kasutamine ning teoste loomine, mis tegelevad äärmiselt palju aktuaalsete teemadega. “Choose Your Weapon” ilmus esmakordselt muralina Londoni tänavatele 2010. aastal. Samal aasta lõpus anti sellest välja ka limiteeritud trükitud tiraaž ning seda endale soovivate fännide hulk ületas pakkumist. Sellest tulenevalt andis kunstnik välja halli versiooni neile, kes ei saanud vaatamata tundide pikkusele järjekorras seismisele teost endale osta. Teosel kujutatud koer on Keith Haringu käekiri ning ühtlasi austusavaldus talle. Noormehes, kelle nägu on rätikuga kaetud ja kes kannab kapuutsi võib näha Inglismaa rahulolematute noorte sümbolit. Ühelt poolt võivad koerad olla alternatiivsed relvad, aga teiselt poolt näitavad nii Banksy kui ka Haring, et vägivallale on alternatiive ja kunstniku töövahendid on vastupanuks võimsamad kui mistahes relvad.
