Javier Guerra Fernández (b 1969) aka Javier Guerra de Cuba is a Cuban artist. In his artwork he has painted directly on the money, which is illegal in many countries. Even though many people might think that the money belongs to them and they can do whatever they like with it, actually money belongs to a country’s system. For example, in the States defacing the money is illegal and if one does so purposely, they can get a fine of imprisonment for up to 6 months. Current artwork became the reason why the artist had to leave the country and he thought this was the best thing that ever happened to him.
