Idle Hands
Irina Angles & Dr Formalyst
Irina Angles is a Paris based Ukrainian born dancer, choreographer and artist. Dr Formalyst is a creative coder, architect and designer from Spain. Their collaboration “Idle Hands” won the Frontier Award at AI ShortFest in 2023. The main focus of the artwork is human creativity and the dexterity of hands. Current artwork is based on the performance of a dancer, but AI has enabled the dancing human body to transform into dancing hands. The hands follow the choreography as a given path, besides they improvise. The latter is a metaphor for the artists journey into the unknown reality where the AI is leading. Therefore, instead of being scared about the adventures of the AI, it can help people to see undiscovered depths of creativity and open new doors to start seeing the World in a completely new way.
Irina Angles on Pariisis töötav Ukrainast pärit tantsija, koreograaf ja kunstnik. Dr Formalyst on Hispaania loominguline koodikirjutaja, arhitekt ja disainer. Nende koostööprojekt “Idle hands” võitis Frontier auhinna 2023. aasta AI ShortFestil. Teose keskmes on inimese loomingulisus ning käteosavus. Antud teos tugineb tantsija esitusel, kuid tehisintellekt on võimaldanud inimese kehal tantsivateks käteks transformeeruda. Käed järgivad koreograafiat kui etteantud rada, kuid lisaks sellele nad improviseerivad. Viimane on kui metafoor kunstnike teekonnal tundmatusse reaalsusesse, kuhu tehisintellekt juhib. Seega tehisaru seikluste kartmise asemel võib see inimestel aidata näha seni avastamata loomingulisuse sügavikke ning avada uusi uksi, et maailma täiesti uuel viisil näha.
