Robert Indiana

Robert Indiana (1928-2018) was an American artist, sculptor and printmaker. New Glory Banner is one version of the American flag reworking that the artist began in 1963. It is a striped rectangle with a circle with stars in the middle and it can be displayed both vertically and horizontally. Notable are the black, yellow and red version, which the artist sayd is the German-American flag, and the red, blue and green, which is the Vietnamese-American flag. The latter is in turn based on Indiana’s original Love painting, where he used the same colors.

“New Glory Banner” on üks versioon kunstniku 1963. aastal alustatud Ameerika lipu ümbertöötlusest.
