Marilyn
Andro Kööp
Andro Kööp (b 1967) is an Estonian artist, who began participating in exhibitions in 1985. He graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts fashion department in 1995. Currently he is a visiting professor of textile and ceramics. Over the years Kööp has been working as an avant-garde artist, designer and interior designer. “Marilyn” is the artist’s interpretation of the legendary artworks of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol. In the second hall of PoCo one was able to see an artwork called “Flirt-2” depicting Marilyn and in this hall there is a big version of Kööp’s Marilyn. The artwork is in an intricate historical frame, so it is a perfect match with the iconic actress.
Andro Kööp (s 1967) on Eesti kunstnik, kes on näitustel osalenud alates 1985. aastast. Ta on lõpetanud Eesti Kunstiakadeemia moeosakonna 1995. aastal. Käesolevalt on ta Eesti Kunstiakadeemia tekstiili ja keraamika dotsent. Aastate jooksul on Kööp tegutsenud nii avangardkunstniku, disaineri kui ka sisekujundajana. “Marilyn” on kunstniku interpretatsioon legendaarsetest Marilyn Monroe teostest Andy Warholi poolt. PoCo muuseumi teises saalis oli võimalik näha teost nimega “Flirt-2”, mis kujutab Marilyni, antud saalis on Kööp temast suurema versiooni loonud. Kunstiteos on väga peenes ajaloolises raamis, seega on see ideaalne paar legendaarse näitlejannaga.
