Julian Opie

2003

ENG EST

Julian Opie (b 1958) is a British artist and sculptor. His distinctive style is to use only necessary black lines and uniformly painted surfaces. He works with paint, metal and digital technologies. Opies artworks merge popular culture and minimalist aesthetic. In 2000 he created the album cover Blur: The Best Of. In 2005 he created a huge LED display with his moving signature character for the U2 Vertigo World Tour stage. His style can be associated with a stick figure, so it is simple and poignant.
2000. aastal kujundas ta albumi Blur: The Best Of. 2005. aastal lõi ta U2 Vertigo maailmaturnee lavale LED kuvaril talle iseloomuliku liikuva tegelase. Kunstniku stiili võib seostada kriipsujukuga, seega see on lihtne ja täpne.
