Gianni Bertini

1980

ENG EST

Gianni Bertini (1922-2010) was an Italian painter and graphic artist. His distinctive style is reminiscent of Pop art, and he was a contemporary of Warhol. However, Bertini was significantly more critical. The artist used mechanical screen printing technique, material transfer and technology in his creations. Bertini often collaborated with experimental poets, especially Henri Chopin. Bertini's first series I Gridi, which means screams was made 1947-1949. In this series, the artist combined elements from everyday life, words from road signs, numbers, stamps, stencils, metal and unusual materials in a way that, in a sense, showed the wave of American pop art that would arrive 10 years later. In 1964-1966 he created a book/object together with Jean-Clarence Lambert. It is an iconic manifestation of Mec art, which focused on the conscious manipulation of images from mass media and popular culture through mechanical processes.
Bertini tegi sageli koostööd eksperimentaalsete luuletajatega, eriti Henri Chopiniga. Bertini esimene seeria “I Gridi”, mis tähendab karjed valmis 1947-1949. Antud seerias lõimis kunstnik elemente igapäevaelust, sõnu liiklusmärkidelt, numbreid, templeid, šabloone, metalli ja ebatavalisi materjale viisil, mis teatud mõttes näitas 10 aasta pärast saabuvat Ameerika popkunsti lainet. 1964-1966 lõi ta koos Jean-Clarence Lambertiga “raamat/objekt”. See on ikooniline Mec kunsti manifestatsioon ming see keskendus massimeedia ja populaarkultuuri piltide teadlikule manipuleerimisele mehaaniliste protsesside teel.
