El lago del deseo

Okuda San Miguel

2018

ENG EST

Okuda San Miguel (b 1980) is a Spanish painter and sculptor. His artworks can be described as colourful, geometric and full of positivity. One remarkable work by Okuda is Kaos Temple, which is an abandoned church in northern Spain. In 2015 he covered the indoors of the church with murals. Also, the former church was turned into a skate hall. Okuda compares his creation to creating his personal Sistine chapel. El lago del deseo in the PoCo museum is an interpretation of Hieronymus Bosch painting Garden of Earthly Delights (c 1480-1505).
2015. aastal kattis Okuda kiriku siseruumid üleni seinamaalidega. Ühtlasi muudeti endine kirik rulahalliks. Okuda ise võrdleb tehtut justkui isikliku Sixtuse kabeli loomisega. PoCo muuseumis olev “El lago del deseo” on Hieronymus Boschi maali “Garden of Earthly Delights” (u 1480-1505) interpretatsioon.
