ENG EST

Refik Anadol (b 1985) is an internationally recognized media artist of Turkish origin living and working in America. Through his creations, Anadol explores the cooperation between man and machine and what it means to be human in the age of artificial intelligence. His creations are based on data and he makes the invisible visible. The Machine Hallucinations: Renaissance/Sculpture series are data-driven paintings created in collaboration with artificial intelligence, in which the machine filtered over 100 000 photos depicting Renaissance sculptures created between the 14th and 17th centuries. The series Machine Hallucinations: Mars Landscapes is also AI data paintings. The artist draws attention to the most powerful camera  HIRISE, sent to another planet taking pictures of Mars. The Machine Hallucinations - NYC series is based on 113 million publicly available images of New York. So the machine uses images taken by humans to construct the machine's vision of New York.
Seeria “Machine Hallucinations: Mars Landscapes” puhul on tegemist samuti tehisintellekti loodud andmemaalidega. Kunstnik juhib tähelepanu Marsi pildistavat HIRISE kaamerale, mis on kõige võimsam teisele planeedile saadetud kaamera. “Machine Hallucinations - NYC” seeria aluseks on 113 miljonit avalikult kättesaadavat pilti New Yorgist. Seega masin kasutab inimeste tehtud pilte, et masina nägemust New Yorgist konstrueerida.
