Chanel No. 5

Andy Warhol

1985/1997

ENG EST

Chanel No. 5 is part of Andy Warhol's 1985 Ads Series, which consists of ten artworks. In a sense, the famous perfume combines a luxurious lifestyle and mass production at the same time. In addition to perfume, he portrayed companies such as Apple, Paramount, Mobil, Volkswagen, etc. in the series. Warhol explored the relationship between art and commerce and recognized the influence of advertising as a form of visual art. Warhol brought advertisements into the world of art and thereby asked how valuable traditional art is and what is the role of the artist in society.
“Chanel No. 5” on osa Andy Warholi 1985. aasta “Ads” seeriast, mis koosneb kümnest teosest.
