Description
The Star in You is a museum lesson about identity, self-expression and the courage to play with roles. Using David Bowie as an example, we will explore how to create different characters using stories, looks, photos, etc. We map our own personality traits and interests and look for our alter ego based on that.
Objectives
The student:
- explores the characters created by David Bowie;
- describes, compares, and interprets Masayoshi Sukita’s photographs;
- formulates his alter ego based on his personal characteristics and interests;
- practices creating messages in the cutting technique.
Before and after
Before the museum lesson, one could familiarize themselves with David Bowie as an artist by watching music videos of his well-known songs.
After the museum lesson, one could do creative work on the subject of alter ego using both images and words. Enthusiasts could also organize an Alter ego fashion show at school or perform as artists on the playbox.
