This artwork is a new version of a piece made 30 years ago. The artist created an homage to their own work. The Teacher artwork from 2024 is depicting a smartphone and it was made during a teachers' strike earlier this year. On one hand one can ask, if technology can replace human teachers, on other hand one can tell that technology places people in the situation of learning to keep up with the developing (digital) world.
Marko Mäetamm (s 1965) is an Estonian artist, whose retrospective exhibition was the first changing exhibition in the PoCo museum. Pop art is full of artists' dialogues with the surrounding world and other artists.
Popkunst on tihedalt täis kunstnike dialooge ümbritseva maailma ning teiste kunstnikega. Marko Mäetamme teos on uusversioon tema 30 aasta tagusest teosest, seega kunstnikud teevad hommaaže ka iseenda loomingule. 2024. aasta teos õpetajast kujutab nutitelefoni ning see valmis käesoleva aasta õpetajate streigi ajal. Ühelt poolt saab küsida, kas tehnoloogia asendab inimesest õpetajaid ning teisalt tõdeda, et tehnoloogia asetab inimese õppimise olukorda, et areneva (digi)maailmaga sammu pidada.
Marko Mäetamm (s 1965) on Eesti kunstnik, kelle retrospektiivnäitus oli esimene PoCo muuseumi vahetuv näitus.
