Such Cute Flowers

Takashi Murakami

2010

ENG EST

Takashi Murakami (b 1962) is a Neo-Pop artist who is considered the Andy Warhol of Japan. One of Murakami's best-known motifs is a smiling and colorful flower full of meaning. At first glance, a flower can have an extremely positive effect. On closer inspection, however, one may wonder if the flower is wearing a mask to hide its true feelings. It is also possible to see tears in the eyes of the flowers. Namely, the Japanese artist has hinted at the connection with the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs. For generations, Japanese society has carried within the tragedy and anguish of World War II that cannot be expressed. So things are not always as they seem, and behind the smiles there can be a completely different hidden world.
Takashi Murakami (s 1962) on neo-pop kunstnik, keda peetakse Jaapani Andy Warholiks.
