Jeff Koons (b 1955) is an American artist known as the king of kitsch. In 2019 Rabbit was sold at Christie's auction house for $91.1 million. It was a record for a work sold by a living artist. Rabbit is a 104 cm high stainless steel sculpture. Christie's website described the sculpture with the words: cute, sinister, cartoonish, imposing banality, sexy, chilling, dazzling and iconic. In the 1980s, Koons established his own studio in New York, which with its 30 assistants resembled Andy Warhol's concept of The Factory.
Jeff Koons (s 1955) on Ameerika kunstnik, kes on tuntud kui kitši kuningas. 2019. aastal müüdi “Rabbit” Christie's oksjonimajas 91,1 miljoni dollari eest. Tegemist oli rekordiga elava kunstniku müüdud teose eest. “Rabbit” on 104 cm kõrguse roostevabast terasest skulptuur. Christie´s kodulehel kirjeldati skulptuuri sõnadega: armas, võigas, koomiksilik, banaalsust kehtestav, seksikas, jahutav, silmipimestav ja ikooniline. 1980. aastatel asutas Koons New Yorgis oma stuudio, mis oma 30 assistendiga sarnanes Andy Warholi The Factory kontseptsioonile.
