Banksy

2002

ENG EST

Banksy (b 1974) is the most famous anonymous street artist. He has been depicting rats since the early 2000s. Rat is an anagram of the word art, so Banksy's "art rats" bring to light characters and themes that otherwise don't see the light of day too much. Banksy has also compared himself as a street artist to a rat, because both appear on the street under the cover of darkness and both are seen as a pest. In addition, one can see the constant competition and consumption that takes place in a capitalist society, hence the constant rat race.
Banksy (s 1974) on kõige tuntum anonüümne tänavakunstnik.
