Barbara Kruger (b 1945) is an American artist who has been using her signature style since 1979: black and white advertising photos from the 1950s, thought-provoking texts, fonts Futura Bold or Helvetica Ultra Condensed, and colors black, white and red. In 1994, James Jebbia (b 1963) founded the clothing brand and skateboard shop Supreme. It is said that the logo designer used, among other things, Kruger's book, and the logo with white Futura Bold letters on a red background was born as if by magic. Bart Simpson, who has escaped from prison, could ask, like Kruger's 2017 skate park and gallery installation at the Performa biennial in New York: "Who is above the law?" or "Who is copying whom?".
