Marco Lodola (b 1955) is an Italian artist who has been compared to Andy Warhol. In his artworks, Lodola depicts couples in love dancing or riding a Vespa, and circus and musical characters. By this he refers to the mass media, music promotion and the stars themselves. His popular light sculptures emerge in Lodola's work. In 2021, the French high fashion brand Dior collaborated with the artist, and 400 boutiques around the world received windows decorated with the artist's light sculptures. This work belongs to the Superlove series, and the viewer sees superheroes kissing. Even though superheroes have superhuman abilities, they have remained in front of the audience at a human moment of tenderness. According to Lodola, it is a sericollage and it is his own tribute to his light sculptures.
Marco Lodola (s 1955) on Itaalia kunstnik, keda on võrreldud Andy Warholiga. Lodola kujutab oma teostel armunud paare tantsimas või Vespaga sõitmas ja tsirkuse- ning muusikategelasi. Seeläbi viitab ta massimeediale, muusika reklaamile ning staaridele endile. Lodola loomingus kerkivad esile tema populaarsed valgusskulptuurid. 2021. aastal tegi Prantsuse kõrgmoebränd Dior kunstnikuga koostööd ning 400 maailma erinevates riikides butiiki said just kunstniku valgusskulptuuridega kaunistatud aknad. Käesolev teos kuulub seeriasse “Superlove” ning vaataja näeb suudlevaid superkangelasi. Kuigi superkangelastele on omased üliinimlikud võimed, on nad vaatajate ette jäänud inimlikul õrnusehetkel. Lodola sõnul on tegemist serikollaažiga ning see on tema enda austusavaldus tema valgusskulptuuridele.
